Ultimately, it is not the assigning or collecting of homework that is important. What is important is understanding the purpose of homework, and that purpose can help you determine the kind of homework, be it physical or digital, that works best for your students. If the technology is available, in school and at home, teachers may prefer to give a digital homework assignment.

While they are doing their morning work I walk around and stamp the pages if they are done. If they are not done then they have to fill out a two-part form and they get a consequence. We check the homework as a class with each subject. If I do give them a worksheet then they have to put that in a file box that has numbered folders and they stand it up so I can see it. Then I can quickly look through the box to see who didn’t put their papers in the box. Eventually my assisstants take over this task when the school year gets going. When the students come back from their class I can ask anyone who is missing an assignment for the paper, etc.

Tips and Ideas for Collecting Homework

How to Allow Additional Attempts

Grades Online enables student achievement by improving organization and allowing for early intervention. Each students has a RED „Take Home” folder that all notes from parents, homework, and their agenda stay in. When they come into class they place this folder in the tray by the door. I go through them, check agendas for parent signature and check to see if homework has been completed. The online gradebook provides a powerful rollover feature, which copies students, classes, custom field data, and more from year to year.

There are no limitations for students, classes, or assignments. There are even instances when an entire school manages all their data using a free gradebook. Of course, the school management system is preferable for schoolwide use, because it combines data from multiple teachers into a consolidated environment. But even so, the free gradebook does not maintain any artificial limitations.

Easy to Use From All Devices

You don’t need to type in an answer key, Free Math just provides an organized view of all student work. You’ll see a message confirming that the files have been exported. Under your course’s Control Panel, click on the Grade Center link, and then the Assignments link. Click on the option Chevronunder the column title for Collect Homework the assignment you wish to download all submissions. Select or create the content area where students will access the assignment. I actually have 2 for math since we have fact practice and homework most days. I have them for subjects even if they don’t have homework, because they use them for tests or inclass work too.
